Join the Band

We are always looking to recruit new pipers and drummers, with or without playing experience. Please contact us via email and come and see a practice session, you will be made most welcome.

Here are a few reasons why you should join us:

• All tuition from beginner to advanced is provided free of charge for members at Fire Service Headquarters near to central Birmingham
• Uniform items are supplied to members on loan free of charge
• Instruments are supplied to members on loan free of charge, although most pipers eventually buy their own bagpipe as it is an individual instrument and tends to be a lifetime hobby.
• The Band wears traditional Scottish uniform with Ancient Red Macpherson tartan. For formal occasions, such as Remembrance Day Parade, the traditional military style uniform is used, complete with feather bonnets and plaids. A daywear style uniform with shirt and tie is worn for less formal events and competitions.
